The first thing we want to hear is the music. Before a follower count or a release schedule, we need to understand what makes this artist worth spending time with.
Good marketing gives people a reason to listen. The music gives them a reason to return. Our job is to bring those two things together.
A point of view
We look for an artist with a sense of who they are. That does not mean every visual or song has to be resolved. It means there is something recognisable to build on: a voice, a perspective, a way of making people feel.
References help us understand an ambition. They become less useful when they take the place of an artist’s own decisions.
Something to build together
The most useful conversations are specific. What has connected so far? What has not? Which part of the audience is returning? What does the artist want the next year of their career to look like?
We look for people who can take feedback seriously without losing their judgement. A campaign needs room to develop, and the willingness to change something when the evidence calls for it.
A shared ambition
A partnership works when we believe in the music and agree on where we are taking it. That involves honest conversations about the work, the resources available and what progress will mean.
We do not need every answer at the first meeting. We need a reason to believe in the next step, and an artist ready to take it.
