Originally working in music journalism for Kerrang!, Music News and Conversations About Her, Maddy found herself addicted to the music industry from day one. Having reviewed, interviewed and most importantly partied with the likes of The Wombats, The Kooks, Slaves and Catfish and The Bottlemen, Maddy has always been on the indie music scene.
Soon becoming PR Manager for one of the leading UK music PR agencies, Maddy managed a team of music publicists and campaigns, gaining exposure for emerging bands with confirmed coverage in The Guardian, The Express, Kerrang TV, Balcony TV, The Telegraph, We Plug Good Music, Forbes, London Evening Standard and the list goes on.
Having worked with bands and brands from across the globe, Maddy’s previous clients include BMG, Sony Music and Trinifold Management.
Having worked in the music industry for nearly 4 years, Maddy has seen the major transformations that have led to a demand in different music marketing methods. She has found Burstimo gives her the chance to explore and adapt traditional marketing techniques, so the new music industry can be taken advantage of and help to gain exposure for bands that have the potential.
Through carrying out in-depth research to get a thorough understanding of where people are really discovering new music, Maddy has focused on streaming platforms securing numerous clients over 1 million Spotify streams via features on Spotify Official playlists, Apple Music playlists and also placements in YouTube videos with over 2 million subscribers. As well as streaming platforms, Maddy works in sync to obtain playlist placement in stores such as The Body Shop, Liberty London, Clarks, Nissan and the Co-op.
Alongside the streaming platforms, Maddy works closely with traditional media, understanding that they’re still essential to springboard emerging artists to the next level. Securing national radio plays on stations such as BBC 6 Music, Fubar Radio and Amazing Radio, coverage on the likes of Flavour Mag, Gigslutz and Clash and sessions with London Live, Sofar Sounds and Secret Sessions, Maddy uses traditional media to grow the artist’s image, online presence and legitimacy when pitching to larger outlets.
Outside of the traditional music marketing, Maddy looks to secure brand deals and collaborations for clients, helping to support their overall brand, working alongside major brands such as Fender, Nasty Gal and PRS Guitars.
