Having already achieved global success after his previous single went viral on social media and was picked up by media giants BuzzFeed, DJ Mag and BBC Radio 1Xtra, DJ Teffler came to us wanting to build on his already very loyal fan base and reach a larger audience with the release of the music video for his hit single ‘Never Let Me Go’.
With YouTube being one of the most influential social media platforms with an ever-growing audience, we pushed the audio to major influencers on YouTube. The track was placed in 11 YouTube videos, with subscribers ranging from 11k all the way up to over 1 million. With content such as look books, gym work outs and dance videos, the track went out to a large demographic that never before would have been reached. The overall subscriber base that ‘Never Let Me Go’ hit out to was over 4.1 million.
Social Media Influencers
Alongside the YouTube placement was the social media influencers, who showed support to the track on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. With social media being such a huge part of people’s day to day life, we saw this as a great way to get the track heard by a larger audience. An example of a major influencer who picked up the track was Krystal Clear, established social media make-up artist, who not only used the track in her YouTube channel but placed the track on Instagram make up videos and supported Teffler on other socials, with an overall fan base of over 2.5 million.
With previous exposure being particularly strong, we pushed for coverage which wasn’t secured previously but was more niche, securing a more targeted audience. The video was premiered with Britain’s biggest black newspaper The Voice within the first couple of weeks giving us a springboard to gaining more online coverage. The track was soon placed on Aurora Music, reaching over 100,000 fans of commercial, EDM and pop music.
